Hospital Diary

February 7, 1993 (Sunday)

I woke up at 6am, and in comes the doctor to greet me.

“Where are you going today?”

“I’ll be playing sports.”

Baseball? Maybe soccer…?

“Golf.”

Hmph, doctors and golf. Makes sense. But does that mean he’s not spending time with his family?

Ota, from TV Asahi, came to visit and found me without my makeup an in pajamas. There aren’t any outpatients on Sunday, so the hospital’s pretty quiet. We talked about a lot of things: health, work…

My desire to get back to playing Usagi as soon as possible welled up even more. I just need to hang in there a little longer.

Yuki came by, her clattering IV in tow. She’ll be graduating highschool in April.

We’ve talked about all sorts of things so far, like how she wants to try out for theater. Well, come on by to see our performance. I’ll send you a flyer! Hang in there and get healthy, Yuki!

I’ve finally been able to start worrying about other people.

In the evening, dad showed up! I had him take back some stuff I don’t need anymore. The room’s less crowded now.

I’ll be leaving tomorrow.

I’m so happy.

Thank you everyone. Truly, thank you.
